Dance in Progress Showcase is back with a TWIST! Now called In Progress, the show invites artists in any performance medium to participate. This change supports Good Trouble Makers’ core mission of collaboration across cultures, genre, and generations; because building community and collaboration is how artists grow, communities thrive, and new opportunities and knowledge are created.

Selected artists will have up to 10 minutes to show work in a shared evening, and have 2 minutes prior to showing to talk to the audience about what they are going to share, and any other information like upcoming performance dates, specifics about their development process etc. The show concludes with a panel discussion so the audience can share their experience and any feedback the artists request.

Participation is absolutely free, and includes the services of GTM’s technical director to run sound and insure a successful show for all. We intend for In Progress to develop into a reliable cost effective opportunity for artists to test ideas, grow their following, and get feedback from peers and fans. Participating artists will be required to be active marketing partners so there is a great supportive audience, and since this opportunity is offered at no cost to the artists, In Progress relies on ticket sales to continue.

Our host venue, Downtown Dance & Movement has 4 large studios and 2 that combine into a lovely performance space with sprung floors and raised seating. The performance space is approx.1300 square feet.

NOTE: This is intended to be a work in progress showing, lighting options will be minimal, and some special tech requirements may not be able to be accommodated.
